Another Customer Success Story:

"Last year at this time, we were on our 4th year of using salesforce.com. This experience has taught us, that in today's business climate, leveraging the power of the internet to run a business is the only way to run a business. A year ago, we completed an in-depth analysis of various general ledger packages that would integrate nicely with salesforce.com. When we discovered NetSuite included not only the functionality we received with salesfoce.com, but integrated this functionality with eCommerce AND our general ledger, we made the choice to migrate to NetSuite.

NetSuite is a powerful application and where salesforce.com supported our business, NetSuite works to grow our business. But, this power needs to be harnessed. To optimize the functionality of NetSuite, you need to have a business partner that understands workflow engineering and Netsuite functionality. That partner is Explore Consulting. Explore Consulting has taken NetSuite to another level. Because their development team can program and set up code in NetSuite, your vision, the vision of more business with less effort, no matter how complex, is executed in less time. This saves you money, drives your business and gets you to market faster. This is the Explore difference. We highly recommend Explore to anyone interested in growing their bottom-line and/or rewarding their shareholders."

  • Multiple Domain Names
  • Custom Tags for Custom HTML Templates

    Multiple Domain Names

You can point multiple CNAMEs to your NetSuite Web site. For example, in order to access your store through both www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com, two different CNAMEs must be created to point to your site.

Setting up and adding your cname to your domain is a simple, step-by-step process. First, you must create your cname.

    To create your cname:

    1. Start with your URL.
      For example, www.netsuitestore.com
    2. Enter a period after your domain name.
      For example, www.netsuitestore.com.
    3. Press the Tab key, and then enter IN.
      For example, www.netsuitestore.com.IN
    4. Press the Tab key, and then enter CNAME.
      For example, www.netsuitestore.com.INCNAME
    5. Press the Tab key, and then enter SHOPPING.NETSUITE.COM.
      For example, www.netsuitestore.com.INCNAMESHOPPING.NETSUITE.COM.
This is what your cname will look like:
    www.netsuitestore.com.         IN  CNAME         SHOPPING.NETSUITE.COM.

Once your cname is created, it needs to be added to your Zone file for domain access. If you are unsure of how to accomplish this, e-mail your cname to your ISP or registrar hostmaster and ask for your cname to be inserted in your Zone file. Your ISP or registrar provider should be able to do this for you. After your cname is added to your Zone file, it takes time before your site points to NetSuite. The time this process takes is different for every domain name pointed at NetSuite. It should take between two days and a week.

Once a cname is set up, log in to your NetSuite account and add your Domain:

    1. Setup > Company > Set Up Domains >
    2. Domain Name = enter your domain name
    3. Hosted As = Web Store
    4. HTML Hosting Root = live
    5. Site Or Page = select from the list of Sites / Pages
    6. Click Add
    7. NOTE: You must repeat this step for each unique domain.
For example- www.mystore.com and mystore.com are unique and each one must be added independently.
    8. Click Save when you are finished

When you are using multiple domains, a domain must be selected as the primary URL. The primary URL is used for all promotional URLs and is the only URL shoppers see when they visit your site, regardless of which domain they used to access the site.

    1. Go to Setup > Web Site > Set Up Web Site.
    2. In the Primary Site URL field, select the domain that should appear in the address bar of the browser when navigating around your site. The domain will appear for all pages of the site with the exception of the secure Checkout and My Account pages.
    3. Click Save.

Custom Tags for Custom HTML Templates

The Advanced Site Customization feature lets you upload HTML templates for your Web pages that contain both built-in and custom tags.

When you include tags in your templates, the tags will be replaced by what you specify on the record for each tab.

For example, the built-in tag NLTABLABEL is replaced by what you define as the name of the tab.

Create custom tags for even more individualization of your site.

To enter custom tag definitions, navigate to Setup > Set Up Web Site. Enter your custom tags on the Define Tags subtab.

As a store manager, specify replacements for those tags at Setup > Web Site > Tabs.
As an administrator, specify replacements for those tags at Lists > Web Site > Tabs.
