Opening Records in a New Window
It is common to run a report, drill into an individual entity or transaction record, and then lose your place from the initial report screen. Instead of clicking the actual entity or transaction name to drill into the specific record you should right-click on the record name and select ‘Open in New Window’.
(click the image below to see it full-sized)

This way you can drill into the record to view more detailed data without losing the initial report screen. Any changes you make to the entity or transaction record can be saved and the second window can be closed. You then can hit the refresh button on the report screen to view your changes.

The Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP) Forum published a new guidebook in February, 2005 titled “A Risk-Based Approach to Compliant Electronic Records and Signatures.”
With over 40 reviewers, this guidebook provides a much needed overview of the risk management process, implementation, and controls. Several useful appendices include case studies for typical pharmaceutical computer systems including spreadsheets, clinical trial label printing, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), interactive voice response (IVR), adverse event reporting (AER), batch records, laboratory information management (LIM), and enterprise resource planning (ERP). More information can be found here.
