    SuiteScript Business Use Case

    Issue: Needed a more simplified workflow for support representatives to create knowledge base solutions with information from case records.

    Resolution: Implemented a custom option button on the case entry form (in edit mode) which allows a support representative to click a single button and have a new solution record window pop-up with specific information from the case form.

    Background: Client uses the CRM aspects of NetSuite to allow customers to report problems, request enhancements, ask questions, etc. via an online case form or via a call center where support representatives enter cases to log each phone call. The need to take advantage of the knowledge base, not only for internal, but also for external solutions to commonly encountered problems was quite apparent. Client chose to take full advantage of the functionality within NetSuite - Knowledge Base, Intranet, and Client SuiteScript features in combination with their current CRM process flows. The client wanted to take further advantage of the Knowledge Base feature by having Customer Support Representatives create solutions directly from the case form, however NetSuite's standard functionality was limited to creating the solution record without pre-populating that record with any information from the case.

    Client SuiteScript was used to create a custom option button directly on the form which allowed for information to pre-populate the solution pop-up window with information from the case form. This automated process streamlined the information delivery system in terms of the Knowledge Base information to allow for solutions to be created with the click of a button not only for internal support representatives, but also for the customer facing Knowledge Base Solutions.

      FSR 2 for NetSuite - Now Live!

    Explore Mobile's FSR 2 has been released. The FSR is designed to enable out of the office access to your NetSuite Customer, Contact and Sales Order information.

    Release 2 is a complete re-design of the user interface and functionality. The navigation has been enhanced for quick retrieval of relevant data; this includes Jump To, Top 10 history, header and footer navigation menus. FSR 2 includes full support for Sales Order retrieval, creation, and modification. These Sales Orders can be emailed directly from your handheld, using NetSuite standard functionality, to multiple email addresses for easy printing and order confirmation.

    Gift Certificates

    Get Ready For The Holidays and take advantage of a New NetSuite Feature!!! Did you know with the new Gift Certificates feature in Version 11.0, you can create items that allow customers to purchase store credit to send as a gift? The recipient can use the gift certificate code when placing an order through the Web store or with a sales representative. Gift certificates can be applied toward the total amount of an order and are not limited by item. If the total amount of the gift certificate is not applied with the first purchase, the amount remaining is displayed with order confirmation, and the certificate code can be used again. Recipients of gift certificates receive an email with a link to your store and a code to apply the gift certificate amount when they place an order. The gift certificate code is entered in the Gift Certificate field on transactions and in the Web store.

    To create gift certificate items, you must enable the Gift Certificates feature at Setup > Company > Enable Features > Sales Transactions. You can then create gift certificate items at List > Accounting > Items > New > Gift Certificate. Gift certificates are treated as a liability until they have been redeemed or until they expire. To recognize expired gift certificates as revenue, go to Transactions > Other > Recognize Gift Certificate Income.
