NetSuite OneWorld was the system of choice for Vivonet for their financial, ERP and CRM needs. Vivonet, like NetSuite, is a hosted solution. Their product is a point-of-sale (POS) and payment processing solution. Very unique in this space, Vivonet collects and aggregates sales data across all their customers. Retailers are empowered with insight into their customers' segment characteristics, enabling them to make better business decisions.
Vivonet operates in both the US and Canada. NetSuite OneWorld was a key success factor for their implementation. Managing sales transactions in both countries and having the ability to quickly view consolidated reports in a single currency was vital. NetSuite seamlessly manages the currency exchange rates, allowing a user to view reports in the currency of their choice. In addition, Vivonet's corporate structure includes several holding companies. NetSuite allowed Vivonet to accurately model their business structure to include multiple legal entities.

Afloral.com Shipping Option Intelligence for NetSuite Web Stores
Background: Afloral.com is the premier provider of silk flowers and floral supplies online. They provide a unique selection of beautiful and realistic silk flowers and quality floral supplies at the lowest prices possible.
Issue: Afloral.com has three types of customers with a shipping option for each.
- Continental 48 states - only ship via UPS (ground, next day, two day and 3 day select)
- Canada - ship UPS only (no air options)
- Outside U.S. (These areas are APO, FPO addresses as well as to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, Guam and the Virgin Islands) - USPS is only shipping option.
In the past, customers could pick any option and they usually picked the least expensive rather than the correct one. Afloral.com wanted a default selection to be made for the customer where the shipping choice was determined automatically based on their location.
Solution: Written entirely in JavaScript, Explore Consulting developed the functionality to accomplish Afloral.com's request. The script runs in the customer's browser throughout the checkout process. When they reach the checkout page that normally displays the available shipping methods, any shipping method that should NOT be available as an option based upon the delivery rules specified will not be displayed. For example, when the delivery location is within the lower 48 states based upon the shipping address provided by the customer earlier in the checkout process, the script hides the Canada and Outside U.S. options.
Results: With this new script in place, Afloral.com provides a significantly improved customer experience when checking out, because the shipping options presented are all valid, eliminating confusion. Further, Afloral.com has seen a drastic reduction in the frequency of support calls and emails handled by their staff, saving them time, money, and headaches.

Context Based Reporting
With NetSuite's OneWorld, the reporting engine has been revamped to include context based reports. This additional filter provides a means of viewing your company's financials from a consolidated view, or from an individual subsidiary view.
For example, we may want to view the overall company Income statement. In the picture above, we would choose "HQ (Consolidated)" and we would see our income statement, in the headquarters' base currency.
However, instead we may want to see only my EMEA operations. Selecting "EMEA (Consolidated)" would refresh the report to display only transactions related to the EMEA subsidiaries (Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom). The report would display in the currency of the EMEA subsidiary.
We can drill further into the details to view only a specific subsidiary's operations in their own base currency, by selecting an individual (non-parent) subsidiary.
